My Summer Staple: The Mint-Lime Spritzer

Back in May, I had the most delicious spritzer when I went to the Terrain cafe on a trip to Philadelphia with a friend. I didn’t think much more of it until I came back and we decided to grow mint for the first time. I started looking up all the ways to use mint, and after a failed attempt at watermelon mint popsicles (it sounded good at least), I came across the idea for a spritzer. I’ve played around with it a bit, and It’s fair to say I’m hooked. I may go for a few days where I forget about it (or I’m trying to let my mint plant alone for regrowth), but then I have it and I have to have at least 2-3 glasses. It’s SO good, and about as refreshing as an alcoholic beverage. I also love that it’s simple to make- I always have limes and mint on hand, and now I make it a point to have club soda on hand. It’s delicious AND easy, and that’s a must these days……

Add these ingredients in this order, then mix with your spoon. Enjoy!

  • 4-5 mint leaves, mashed with your spoon in the bottom of the glass

  • 1 drop of Agave Nectar

  • full glass of ice

  • another drop of Agave if desired

  • juice of 1/4 a lime

  • club soda- I prefer one that isn’t too “hoppy” like Pelegrino.

  • Blackberries/blueberries if desired
